it appears the organizing committee do not want tourist or people outside calabar to attend this years Xmas carnival'2008. This is due largely to the absence of program of events in the internet or elsewhere for information dissemination 4 those outside the love city, which invariably is our travel guide compass around the country. All the same no problem for tourist as they are free to decide and take travel decisions .

I believe the aim of this carnival is to promote our heritage as Calabar people,Niger Delta and Nigeria in general. And not to promote the white-man culture(Borrowed culture).Calabar have a very rich culture that must be protected for the next generation.

Calabar carnival 2008 means love to the entire world, the people of nigeria and the niger delta people in particular. My first one day experience in 2007 carnival proved that the people are lovely and hospitable to all visitors to the state. Many thanks to my friends iron bar and joe of the civil defence corp for their humanly protection during last carnival 2007 for me and my colleague that visited the carnival. This year carnival is necessary during the xmas holidays to burn off stress that we undergo from Jan to Nov and ensure quality health for the opening year 2009. As we all know work without play makes jack a dull boy come enjoy 2008 carnival in calabar. But most important 4 now. pls release the program of events.

ATTENTION TO CARNIVAL COMMITTEE 2008: Surprising to note that up till this moment the 12th day of Nov'2008 the program of events for the 2008 calabar Xmas carnival is still not out for public consumption on the internet or elsewhere 4 those outside calabar. I wounder what the organizing committee is doing about this. The early the release of program of events the better for tourist in Nigeria and abroad to ensure quality plan attendance. Please give us the program of events, venues and carnival artist. Thanking u.

The artist CASH LORD,
(born HILARY ONWORDI on the 7th of MAY) known for his
versatility, proverbial lyrics and unique style started his singing and writing
career at the age of fourteen. Justifiable tagged “the hit maker”, OMO
ELENIYAN conveys with his music, a new ethnic flavor and eclectic style that is
uniquely his.
Years of studying the industry and refining his skills, has helped him develop
his musical ideology and style. His powerful use of the Yoruba language and his
lyrical abilities sets him apart from most artists in his genre and in his
opinion is what makes him KASHLORD. This unique style, evident on all of his
song some of which include his hit SINGLE, *YAHOOZEE DANCE AND
DEACONESS,IF RUGGEDMAN NA GOD*, as well as on collaborations , often leaves
many listeners astonished at the magic of the delivery and the rhythmic harmony. I WILL LUV TO BE A PART OF THYIS SHOW AND WILL BE HAPPY TO SEE PEOPLE WATCH ME DO MY THING

I have said and I will say again the Niger Delta states should emulate the cross river state carnival to promote tourism and wealth for the people as tourism will generate Love, understanding and better income than the so called blood oil.
